It seems they want Caitlin Clark gone

Eight games into the 2026 WNBA season and it seems that many parties do not want Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever to succeed.
We have already have questioned the construction of the Indiana Fever roster. For that I would like to add one more observation. It seems with the new collective bargaining agreement (CBA) that there have been some longevity reward spots on each team. Indian has some but I will not name names. Just check the box score.
Stephanie White has been labeled some type of genius coach. I can see this to a point last year (2025) with players that brought the team success. I am not sure how much was her coaching and how much were the players.
2026 though has brought some very questionable coaching decisions. First is the emphasis on a certain style of defense with no accommodation for individual player's skills. Larry Bird played defense differently than Magic Johnson. Michael Jordan played defense differently than Patrick Ewing. Caitlin Clark plays defense differently than Paige Paige Bueckers. Stephanie White seems to think everyone plays defense the same way. Good coaches play defense according to their players skills.
Coach White seems to think there is only one way to play offense. But Caitlin Clark sees the game so much differently. It took Christie Sides half a season to figure it out only after the all star game where Cheryl Miller said let them play. And did they ever. It was beautiful to see Caitlin Clark hit Angel Reese with a dime!
It is still hard do understand other than some weird bias of game and a league that wanted to present the game as women beating each other up to the officials. They managed to destroy Caitlin Clark's 2025 season and through lack of transparency baited the fans. 2026 there seems to be an effort to make it basketball. However there seems to be continued targeting of Caitlin Clark. Clark is trying to plead her case. Aliyah Boston has also been getting hammered also. White and the half dozen assistant coaches do not challenge many calls and do not seem to be coming to the support of Clark and Boston. This gives some fans the impression that Clark and Boston are poor sports and whiny. Sorry, in the Portland game I called four of Clark's fouls opposite and Boston's fouls opposite also.
In the Portland game the fever start with the fast pace wide open Clark style game and have an 8 -2 lead with Clark scoring two and three assists. How are the Fever rewarded? White pulls Clark and Boston which disrupts the flow they had and the game flow is destroyed. People turned the game off before the third quarter was completed. Only for my journalistic position did I keep watching.
This Stephanie White and WNBA debacle must be fixed. Keep trying to destroy Clark and not let her and Boston excel, all financial gains will eventually be eliminated. In what world does this make sense?
